In the actual world, Web3 is starting to emerge. According to a recent tweet from the Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization with headquarters in Switzerland that supports the decentralization, growth, and security of the Solana network, The Solana Embassy has just opened in Wynwood, Miami.
The tweet stated, “We called this The Solana Embassy because it’s more than just a store.” The space is devoted to Web3 and Solana and serves as a classroom, cultural center, lounge, nightclub, and retail all in one.
Solana Spaces and the Solana Embassy
The Embassy’s major objective is to establish a secure and friendly environment for welcoming new users to the Web3 realm. Starting at the Embassy’s “Seed Phrase” booth, interested visitors can learn more about NFTs while participating in a variety of stations and games and earning rewards. Users will receive a “check-in” NFT here once staff members assist them in introducing them to the Embassy’s partner cryptocurrency wallet Phantom. Following that, they will finish tutorials for $10 USDC. Visitors to the Embassy can receive free merchandise for new signups and deposits thanks to a partnership with the FTX cryptocurrency exchange.
Plans for global expansion by Solana Spaces
The Solana Foundation has already opened physical locations that serve as Web3 onboarding centers. According to a previous tweet from the non-profit, on July 28, 2022, it organization established a permanent physical retail store at Hudson Yards in Manhattan named Solana Spaces.
Similar to The Solana Embassy, Solana Spaces offers goods with a crypto-themed and offers a variety of stations for Web3 onboarding. In addition, visitors can check out Solana’s Web3 mobile phone Solana Saga at other stations that offer educational materials on NFT initiatives like STEPN and online markets like Magic Eden. The renowned Degenerate Ape Academy, Solana’s first million-dollar NFT collection, is also physically displayed in the store. According to a press release, Solana Spaces intends to offer fresh products and brand alliances that will be often updated.
But if you were hoping that The Solana Foundation would keep funding significant American real estate endeavors like this, you’re out of luck. The group stressed that its objective is to establish an Embassy in every nation to aid in the development of Web3 along with the announcement of the Embassy’s opening, claiming that they will “never build another venue quite like this in the United States.”
Customers might enter a mirrored installation within the store to mint one of 256 NFTs. Once inside, a camera snapped a picture of whatever was there, and visitors may then mint that picture into an NFT. The idea of providing people with something physical to interact with that is nonetheless Web3-focused is shared, even though it is not quite the same as Solana Spaces.
Web3 is fundamentally digital, but it can’t stay entirely that way. In fact, increasing Web3’s points of physical contact with the established world could speed the technology’s popular adoption. Although we are unable to predict Solana Spaces’ performance just yet, physical businesses intended to demystify Web3 for the general public may be essential for increasing Web3 adoption.
