NFTs raise money for Alzheimer’s Research and the Alzheimer’s Society

SIR GEOFF HURST LEGENDARY ENGLISH FOOTBALL PLAYER LAUNCHES NFTS FOR ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH

The Everlasting Memory, the debut NFT collection by World Cup veteran Sir Geoff Hurst, is now accessible on Rarible.

The Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK will benefit from sales of the open edition collection, which is currently on sale.

The NFTs serve as reminders of England’s spectacular World Cup triumph over West Germany in 1966.

On December 16, 2022, a special 1 of 1 NFT will be made available for purchase in addition to the open edition NFTs.

The worlds of Sir Geoff Hurst collide
The “The Everlasting Memory” collection by Reeps One not only preserves a significant moment in world football history, but also benefits a good cause.
Only Sir Geoff and three other members of the valiant 1966 England side are still alive, with many of England’s football legends having succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease.

Harry Yeff and Trung Bao, the world-famous developers of the VOICE GEMS system, created the artwork using Sir Geoff’s vocal memory.

Sir Geoff stated, “Getting part in an NFT project to accomplish that has been an eye-opening experience. I am passionate about raising critical cash and awareness for charities like Alzheimer’s Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society. Naturally, I’ve heard about this emerging field of NFTs, and my grandson has frequently discussed them. However, what really piqued my interest was the prospect of being able to access my own memories from the year 1966 and digitally save them for future generations.

At their encounter at Wembley earlier this summer, Harry Yeff, the founder of VOICE GEMS, and Sir Geoff exchanged recollections that helped Reeps One come up with the NFT.

Sir Geoff acknowledges that his memory of the World Cup may possibly deteriorate after witnessing his comrades struggle with Alzheimer’s, which makes his engagement in the project all the more meaningful.

Reeps One, a well-known artist from London, said: “I won’t soon forget getting the message that Sir Geoff Hurst wanted us to preserve his memory of 1966. Perhaps nothing in sports history is more recognizable than that hat-trick. As a child growing up in Walthamstow, London, this experience has recurred

throughout my life. Although I have twice traveled the globe to gather sounds for the VOICE GEMS project, this is legendary. For a legendary cause, a legendary voice. A moment captured in time
