Donald Trump’s recently released “digital trading card” NFT collection may have been created using copyrighted photos, according to previously discovered evidence.
The abrupt change occurs just days after the former president was accused of using photoshopped photographs from regional small-scale clothing manufacturers as the foundation for his NFT company.
The majority of the 4,500 digital trading cards that Trump has already sold “appear to be based on unlicensed, copyrighted pictures,” according to Daily Mail.
The claims that numerous photographs were directly lifted from well-known businesses like Men’s Warehouse, Amazon, and Walmart are even more surprising.
One NFT that Trump has apparently already sold, in which the troubled politician is depicted as a jet pilot, was supposedly stolen directly from a Shutterstock photo.
Trump is shown as an astronaut on another digital trading card that was purportedly stolen from NASA.
One NFT in particular, depicting Trump holding a shotgun while decked out in full hunting attire, was connected to a set of waders made by Branded.
Another trading card depicting Trump as a cowboy wearing a sheriff’s badge on his coat’s left sleeve was linked to a leather duster that was ostensibly drawn from a jacket made by a tiny apparel company called Scully Sportswear.
Another issue is the secrecy behind NFT INT LLC, the business that started Trump’s new NFT enterprise.
Each NFT sold by Trump would cost at least $99, and 45,000 distinct NFTs are expected to be sold by the end of the project’s run, according to NFT INT LLC, which also made it clear that no money from the endeavor will go toward Trump’s recently announced quest for the presidency in 2024.
After the venture’s unexpected debut last week, the NFT business stated, “These Digital Trading Cards are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign.” Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Digital LLC, or any of their respective principals or affiliates do not own, manage, or control NFT INT LLC.
According to their statement, “NFT INT LLC uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness, and image pursuant to a paid license from CIC Digital LLC, which license may be cancelled or revoked in accordance with its terms.”
Since unveiling the project on Thursday via his social media network, Truth Social, the former president of the United States has not commented on his new NFT endeavor.
