Microsoft Edge introduces built in NFT & Crypto wallet, are we gonna use Microsoft Edge browser now?

Leaked screenshots by an anonymous Twitter user reveal that Microsoft’s Edge browser is planning to incorporate a built-in wallet for cryptocurrencies and NFTs. This move signals the integration of Web3 technology and the elimination of the need for third-party applications like MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet.

The screenshots suggest that Microsoft is working towards simplifying the Web3 experience for its customers by including a crypto and NFT wallet within the Edge browser. The new wallet is expected to be housed within the interface designated for stored credit cards, making it easier for beginners to start their Web3 journeys.

The wallet will feature visually appealing graphics showcasing users’ crypto holdings, transaction history, Web3-focused news, and a dedicated NFT page. The NFT wallet section will be similar to popular trading sites like Blur and will support NFTs from multiple sources.

Moreover, Microsoft emphasizes that the wallet is non-custodial, allowing users to maintain complete control over their crypto assets. Microsoft will not possess access to private keys or the power to freeze funds, aligning with the “freedom to transact” principle of the crypto ethos.

The move by Microsoft to integrate a crypto wallet and NFT support within the Edge browser reflects the growing mainstream adoption of digital assets. Though Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed the integration, the leaked screenshots suggest that the tech giant is gearing up for a major foray into the world of cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
