Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has made her entry into the NFT market with her collection called “The 1776 Collection.” This collection, hosted on the Solana blockchain, features patriotic themes and iconic American symbols like the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore.
The collection consists of seven unique designs, with 3,500 NFTs available for purchase at $50 each. Melania announced the sale on her Twitter account and directed buyers to the USA Collectibles website. Reports suggest that a portion of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to “Fostering the Future,” a charity initiative under Melania’s “Be Best” program that supports foster children.
Melania’s NFT venture follows her husband Donald Trump’s entry into the NFT realm with his digital trading card collection in 2022. While initially successful, the release of additional NFTs by Donald Trump led to a significant decline in the value of the original cards.
Melania Trump’s move into the NFT market demonstrates her ongoing interest in digital collectibles, but it remains to be seen whether this represents a genuine interest in the technology or a lucrative business endeavor. As the NFT market continues to evolve, only time will reveal the true intentions behind these ventures.
