Artificial Intelligence joins with META

Meta (formerly Facebook) is bringing a slew of AI-driven features and experiences to its platforms, including AI-generated stickers, image editing with AI, an advanced conversational assistant called Meta AI, and a cast of 28 AIs with unique personalities, some portrayed by cultural icons and influencers.

AI Stickers: Users across platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook Stories will soon have access to AI-generated stickers. This feature uses AI technology to convert text prompts into customized stickers, allowing for more expressive communication.

Image Editing With AI: Instagram is getting two new AI-driven features called Restyle and Backdrop. Restyle lets users transform images by describing the visual styles they want. Backdrop changes the scene or background of an image based on user prompts. These features aim to enhance creativity while maintaining transparency about AI usage.

Meta AI: Meta AI is a conversational assistant available on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and coming to Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest 3. It’s powered by AI models and offers real-time information and image generation capabilities. Users can interact with Meta AI in group chats and use it for creative tasks like generating digital merit badges.

AI Characters: Meta is introducing 28 AIs with unique personalities, some portrayed by cultural icons and influencers, including Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, Kendall Jenner, and Naomi Osaka. These AIs will be available for interaction on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, adding a new layer of conversational experiences.

Meta is also taking steps to ensure the safety and trustworthiness of these AI experiences by adding markers to indicate AI-generated content.

Moreover, Meta plans to democratize AI creation with its AI studio platform, allowing developers and non-developers to build their own AIs. Businesses will also be able to create AIs for customer service, and creators can build AIs to extend their virtual presence. Meta is launching these features in stages, starting with Messenger and expanding to WhatsApp.

This announcement highlights Meta’s commitment to AI-driven experiences and its plans to make AI more accessible and interactive across its platforms.
