Wearable Dunk Genesis sneakers for NIKE & RTFKT nft holders

Nike and RTFKT have unleashed a unique opportunity for their existing NFT owners, introducing wearable Dunk Genesis sneakers with digital ownership and NFT counterparts from October 18 to 30.

NFT holders have the chance to secure up to five pairs of physical Dunk Genesis sneakers in three eye-catching colors, each priced at $222. These distinct sneaker models include Dunk Genesis ‘OG,’ Dunk Genesis ‘Void,’ and Dunk Genesis ‘Clone X.’ Once owners redeem the real-world shoes, their digital twins will remain in their virtual wallets, serving as timeless representations of this fashionable footwear. The physical versions are set to be dispatched starting in June 2024.

For those who are eager to get their hands on these stylish sneakers but don’t possess a Nike x RTFKT NFT, one pair from these editions will be accessible to the general public at ComplexCon, a “future-focused curated festival” happening in Long Beach, California, on November 19-20.

Specific design details are still shrouded in secrecy. However, one thing is clear: these intriguing Dunk Genesis sneakers draw inspiration from the classic Dunk Low style, accentuated by futuristic, tech-inspired sole units that highlight their forward-thinking allure.

This venture between Nike and RTFKT in the realm of Web3 began with Nike’s acquisition of RTFKT in December 2021, following the NFT fashion studio’s highly successful Clone X drop. This drop fetched a floor price of an impressive $19,000 (5.75 ETH) on OpenSea at the time. Since then, the collaboration has given birth to AR-infused hoodies, merging fashion with the Metaverse through NFC technology, as well as a unique urban footwear line featuring self-lacing technology and built-in lighting, once again melding cutting-edge fashion with technology.

Their journey in tech-enhanced fashion continues. In March 2023, they released Air Force 1 NFT sneakers designed by the renowned Web3 artist Takashi Murakami. Owners of these digital assets gain access to physical versions of the sneakers, demonstrating the innovative use of NFTs to foster customer loyalty. Currently, the price for one of these NFTs stands at $294.25 (0.18 ETH) on OpenSea.

As these fashion giants continue to blur the lines between the physical and digital realms, consumers are not just offered products but are immersed in a world that seamlessly connects technology, fashion, and collectibles. Keep an eye out for the forthcoming Nike x RTFKT NFT sneakers; they’re set to make quite a splash.
