Matr1x Secures $10 Million in Funding Led by Folius Ventures and SevenX

Matr1x, a Singapore-based NFT gaming company, has successfully secured $10 million in its recent funding round, led by Folius Ventures and SevenX. This marks a significant development in the gaming industry, highlighting a shift towards innovative NFT gaming experiences. Notable investors include ABCDE Capital, Jambo, Initiate Capital, and Find Satoshi Lab.

The company’s flagship game, Matr1x Fire, a first-person shooter, draws inspiration from Riot Games’ Valorant but distinguishes itself by focusing on skill-based gameplay akin to CS:GO, rather than special powers. Matr1x aims to redefine mobile gaming, emphasizing team play with five-person teams and esports ambitions.

Matr1x has introduced two NFT collections and is developing a third, offering opportunities for governance participation and a stake in the creator economy. Despite concerns of similarities with NetEase’s Hyper Front, which faced legal issues with Riot Games over similarities with Valorant, Matr1x is determined to carve its niche, emphasizing its unique gaming experience centered around gunplay and tactics.

The funding secured, combined with the studio’s transparent approach and unique gaming vision, positions Matr1x as a key player in the evolving landscape of NFT-based mobile gaming. The industry is closely watching how Matr1x’s projects will impact and potentially transform the gaming landscape.
