Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new feature called ‘MBUX Collectibles’ as part of its Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) dashboard during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This feature allows users to explore and browse NFTs related to the Mercedes-Benz brand directly from their car’s dashboard. With just a few taps on the screen, users can interact with digital collectibles, adding a personalized and interactive element to their driving experience.
This move is not the luxury car brand’s first foray into the world of blockchain and NFTs. In 2020, Mercedes-Benz initiated a blockchain project to track CO2 emissions in its cobalt supply chain, showcasing a commitment to sustainability. In the NFT space, the company launched its first NXT Icon collection in 2021, featuring 18,860 digital collectibles, which sold out within hours. In 2022, Mercedes-Benz released its second NXT Icon collection, further establishing its presence in the NFT market. Additionally, the company introduced ‘Maschin,’ its first NFT collection, in April of the same year.

The integration of NFTs into the MBUX dashboard is part of Mercedes-Benz’s strategy to connect with a younger demographic and stay ahead of industry trends. By providing a platform for users to engage with digital collectibles, Mercedes-Benz is bridging the gap between traditional luxury vehicles and the growing world of NFTs.
This move aligns with the broader trend of companies embracing Web3 technologies and adapting to the changing consumer landscape. As the demand for NFTs continues to rise, luxury car brands like Mercedes-Benz are likely to explore further innovations and integrations in this space, offering unique and personalized experiences for their customers. The MBUX Collectibles feature represents a significant step towards merging luxury vehicles with digital innovation, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and consumer preferences.
