Y00ts NFT Collection Transitions to Ethereum Following $3M Polygon Grant

Y00ts, a prominent non-fungible token (NFT) collection that originated on Solana and later moved to Polygon, has declared its intention to shift away from Polygon and return the $3 million grant it received from Ethereum’s layer 2 solution earlier this year.

The move is aimed at uniting the communities of y00ts and DeGods, another project developed by Los Angeles-based startup DeLabs, which migrated to Ethereum in April. Y00ts plans to migrate to Ethereum to facilitate this integration. The migration date will be disclosed soon, coinciding with the announcement of a Season III collection by DeGods.

The decision to migrate stems from the realization that both y00ts and DeGods had “capped out on Solana.” The move away from Solana was initially announced by both projects in December. Their combined NFT sales accounted for nearly 70% of Solana’s NFT sale volume prior to the departure.

Y00ts had previously completed its migration to Polygon, utilizing the grant money to enhance team capabilities and project expansion. While the project will return the grant, Polygon intends to re-allocate $1 million of the refunded amount to support its network of builders and creators.
Rohun Vora, known as Frank and the leader of the DeGods project, expressed appreciation for Polygon Labs’ collaboration but emphasized the desire to unite the two communities. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal supported the decision, highlighting the positive role that Vora and his team played in expanding Polygon’s NFT ecosystem.

The forthcoming migration to Ethereum marks an exciting development for both y00ts and DeGods, signaling a new chapter and future prospects for the projects within the Ethereum blockchain.
