Enjin Migrates Over 200 Million NFTs to Its Blockchain

Enjin has executed a colossal feat by migrating over 200 million NFTs from Ethereum and its JumpNet sidechain to the Enjin Blockchain. Among the transferred NFTs, more than 118 million were initially hosted on Ethereum, with over 101 million on JumpNet. This strategic move follows Enjin’s June announcement of its blockchain tailored specifically for NFT-related functions, such as transfers and royalty allocations.

The shift to Enjin Blockchain comes with an array of new features, including built-in royalties and the introduction of “Fuel Tanks.” Developers can now choose to offset gas fees for users, potentially reducing transaction costs within the ecosystem. Enjin has ambitious plans to facilitate free transactions within its ecosystem for three months, adding an extra layer of user-friendly appeal.

Executing this large-scale migration was no small feat. Atlas Development Services, a major contributor to the Enjin Blockchain, devised a unique strategy to sidestep hefty gas fees. Instead of removing Ethereum NFTs and minting new ones on the Enjin Blockchain, they opted for a snapshot approach. Users can claim their NFTs on the Enjin Blockchain by signing with their Ethereum wallets, eliminating associated gas fees. While the original NFTs remain on the Ethereum network, users are advised to consider the Enjin Blockchain versions as the official ones, marking a significant development in the NFT space.

Enjin’s successful migration of over 200 million NFTs signifies a noteworthy milestone in the digital asset landscape. Beyond enhancing user experience with innovative features like built-in royalties and “Fuel Tanks,” Enjin is setting a new standard for NFT transactions and management.

The strategic migration approach, led by Atlas Development Services, demonstrates forward-thinking solutions to tackle the challenges posed by high gas fees, a common obstacle in the blockchain realm. This move, coupled with the gaming industry’s potential for broader blockchain adoption, positions Enjin as a trailblazer in NFT innovation.
