A Documentary film ‘New Here’ and the Arbitrum Foundation Redefining Interactive Media in Web3

The visionaries behind New Here, an innovative web3 documentary uncovering the origins of crypto art, team up with the Arbitrum Foundation for their latest venture, Glimpses. This partnership, bolstered by technical expertise and financial backing, signals an exhilarating leap into interactive media powered by blockchain technology and collector engagement.

Glimpses tokens, available for free on Zora with an $11 minting fee, are crafted by the New Here team, capturing the essence of web3 luminaries like Claire Silver and Snowfro. These tokens evolve dynamically, adding color and motion based on viewers’ interaction with upcoming New Here Shorts films.

Developed with Web3 experts vibe.xyz, the technology aims to gamify the viewing experience, encouraging deeper engagement. Director Dan Sickles highlights the gamification aspect, hinting at multiple token evolution stages influenced by viewer actions and the order of watching the New Here Shorts.

This strategic approach motivates holders to seek rare evolutions or keep “virgin” tokens for potential buyers. Sickles sees this gamification as vital to introducing web3-curious audiences to the space, using the short films as a gateway to the broader crypto art scene.

The Glimpses collection will debut at ETH Denver, showcasing unique visual worlds inspired by individual artists. Each Glimpse reflects its creator’s aesthetic, blending AI-generated mood boards with high-production visuals and live-action footage. As viewers witness their Glimpses evolve, they’ll discover fragments of each episode embedded within the token, enriching the experience.
